BTS’ RM has revealed that he stepped in when label executives considered changing the explicit lyrics in Jungkook’s hit single “Seven.” In a Rolling Stone cover story published on April 13, 2026, Jungkook, who also goes by the Golden Maknae nickname, spoke about the song and said he never felt embarrassed by its adult language. According to him, his reaction was simple. He felt there was no reason to hide from the lyrics. RM then shared that he argued against changing them, saying Jungkook had already grown and should be free to sing the line as it was created. In the explicit version of the song, the youngest of BTS sings, “You know night after night I’ll be f*ckin’ you right, seven days a week.”

That decision later became part of one of Jungkook’s biggest solo hits. The track was released in 2023. “Seven,” featuring Latto, quickly became a global hit and reached #1 on Billboard’s Global 200. Following its initial success, it also became the fastest song in Spotify history to reach one billion streams in October 2023. In the same year, Latto talked about her experience working with Jungkook, revealing that she felt pressure at first.
“I’m like, ‘Are you sure you want me?’ I felt so much pressure to do it, but I was like, ‘You know what? He reached out to me for a reason. Let me just go in there and do what I do best.”
RM also shared another exclusive detail from that period. The group’s rapper and leader shared that Jungkook was invited to perform solo at the 2024 Super Bowl Halftime Show by Usher before his military enlistment. However, the plan did not happen because Jungkook began his mandatory service in December 2023 alongside Jimin. And while the “Golden” era had successful singles, such as “Seven” and “Standing Next To You,” a Halftime Show performance would have been the cherry on top.
