The Oscars, also known as the 98th Academy Awards, will take place on Sunday, March 15, 2026, at the Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood in Los Angeles, California. The main ceremony is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. ET and 4 p.m. PT. Before that, the official red carpet event will start at 6:30 p.m. ET and 3:30 p.m. PT. The red carpet is usually an important part of the event, because it includes celebrity arrivals, outfits, photos, interviews, and first reactions ahead of the main ceremony.

Host and performances in the 2026 Oscars

Conan O’Brien will host the Oscars again in 2026 after making his debut as host for the show in 2025. Before him, Jimmy Kimmel hosted several editions, including 2017, 2018, 2023, and 2024. The 2026 ceremony will also include music performances connected to important musical films of the year. Producers Raj Kapoor and Katy Mullan said the performances in this year’s edition feature music by two Best Original Song nominees, Sinners and KPop Demon Hunters.

First,  Ejae, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami are expected to perform “Golden,” which will include traditional Korean instrumentation and folklore to celebrate the culture behind the movie. Meanwhile, Miles Caton and Raphael Saadiq will perform “I Lied To You” from the Sinners movie. According to the Academy, the performance will bring storytelling into a cinematic live moment.

ABC and Hulu will offer ways to watch the event live from home

People in the United States can watch the Oscars for free over the air on their local ABC station. The ceremony will also be available on ABC.com and the ABC app for viewers who sign in with a cable or satellite provider. Viewers without cable can still stream the show live on Hulu and through services such as Hulu Live TV, YouTube TV, AT&T TV, and FuboTV. Some of these services may offer free trials for eligible users. Outside the United States, different regions can tune in to Disney+. Other countries like Canada will have the ceremony’s broadcast on CTV and streamed on Crave.
