Tom Holland is stepping up his superhero looks with pure muscle, not padding or computer effects! The Spider-Man star told Men’s Health that his new fitness motivation came from an unexpected place. After working with director Christopher Nolan on the upcoming film The Odyssey, the actor decided he wanted to keep things old-school. Playing Telemachus in Nolan’s remake made him think twice about how he suits up as Marvel’s superhero.

At a recent event, Tom Holland said most superhero costumes rely on built-in padding and some digital help to look ripped. But he wants to make all that extra stuff unnecessary! He is now training to the limit, using a mix of bodyweight exercises, weight training, and a weighted vest to get that real muscular look. Holland shared that he still wants to gain around four more kilograms of muscle and maybe even level up to an eight-pack.
“I’m trying to add mass, but I’d also quite like to add a bit more definition to my abs – I’d love to have an eight-pack.”

The new Spider-Man suit for the upcoming film Brand New Day just dropped, and fans noticed it looks lighter and sleeker than usual. With the movie set to hit theaters in July 2026, the actor still has time to finish his bulk-up era. If all goes according to plan, this Spider-Man will be all muscle, and no visual effects will be needed.
