All right, Kpop stants! The MelOn Music Awards 2023 are over with NewJeans being crowned the show’s biggest winners. The “Super Shy” hitmakers made two major moves yesterday: first, they took home a total of 5 awards (out of 7 they were nominated for) and second, they even performed a medley of all the songs in their latest mini-album “Get Up.”
So get these facts: NewJeans was nominated for 7 awards and ultimately took the crown, winning 5. This includes the “Daesang” or “honor awards” for Artist of the Year and Song of the Year thanks to the bop “Ditto.” In addition, they also won the Top 10 Artist, Millions Top 10 Artist and Best Female Group.
This definitely puts the cherry on the cake for NewJeans in 2023. The girls have rocked multiple award ceremonies, including the Billboard Awards, the Blue Dragon Film Awards, and the MAMA Awards. Then, they also graced the stage of Lollapalooza and the League of Legends Worlds 2023.
