BTS Jin is one of the most beloved members of the group because of his amazing talent and electrifying personality. The idol is enlisted in the military until next year and he is already shaking up the South Korean military’s communication service. He already prompted the military to overhaul its communication system for enlisted soldiers.
The South Korean military acquired a communication channel called, “The Camp” launched in 2018, which serves to allow family and friends to send encouraging messages to trainees. The communication system has been widely popular in the military as the system racked up 55 million letters before Jin’s enlistment.
This system was overloaded after Jin enlisted because thousands of fans started sending encouraging letters to the idol. The application currently limits users to 1,500 characters per letter which doesn’t meet the demand of Jin’s fans, better known as the ARMY. In addition, “The Camp” software developers, EnableOnSoft stated Jin has already received 320,000 letters from fans in their communication system.
The demand created the perfect opportunity for revamping, “The Camp” by creating subscriptions to send unlimited-length letters to enlisted idols like Jin. EnableOnSoft is monetizing its platform through merchandise and subscriptions, which are going to utilize Jin’s intellectual property for official goods and merchandise.
Undoubtedly, BTS Jin’s influence all over the world is unmatched, even he changed the whole system in just a couple of months of enlistment. This is good news for the ARMY, who can send unlimited letters to his favorite idol to cheer them up during his enlistment until he is discharged from service on June 12, 2024.
