A few months ago it became fashionable to watch series, movies and productions that had a touch of apocalypse, and is that in the world of entertainment, catastrophes are topics that people are attracted to see, especially if the terror has to do with zombie-like creatures.

HBO Max gained a lot of followers when The Last of Us series was released, with such a great success that a second season has already been confirmed, but we have to remember that the successful series is based on a video game with the same name. Now, that same title could be in trouble due to some modifications being made by Play Station.

Playstation fires important people in the The Last of Us studio

In May, a series of layoffs were reported at Visual Arts, one of the Sony studios involved in the production of the just-released The Last of Us Online. John Borba, project coordinator at the developer, reported that many employees are losing their jobs, just like him.

“Unfortunately, after a wave of layoffs, last week was my last at PlayStation. While it’s certainly not the news I was hoping for, I’m grateful to have had the opportunity to work among talented colleagues on amazing projects and I leave with fond memories,” commented Bellemere on LinkedIn, who was the level designer at the studio.

The studio has said the layoffs have been necessary for the good and advancement of the company, who have said it is:

“to cope with new budgetary needs.”

With the layoffs of the people we knew would be on The Last of Us project, people on networks have already become concerned because the studio is behind the game and have asked if the modifications within the studio could jeopardize the audiovisual production.

So far, Playstation has not said anything about it, but many believe that they are internal problems within the company that would not have to modify at all the development of the series that has already secured a new season soon.

What do you think about it? What do you think will happen with the future of the famous title?
