Kpop stans, time to get in line! The Grammy Awards are hitting our screens next year, on February 4, 2024. This would be the 66th the prestigious awards will be handed to artists of different nationalities and musical genres, with Kpop being no exception to this rule.

Now, get this fact: artists and record labels have to submit their own nominations before even getting an actual place in any of the categories. That’s why this news basically means our fave kpop groups and solo idols are feeling good enough about their bops to get a few nominations here and there, but these are just possibilities, not official nominations.

It is also time for some history: BTS is the only Kpop act to ever be nominated for the Grammys, but unfortunately, they haven’t received any of these acclaimed awards. The first time this happened was in 2021 when they were nominated for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for “Dynamite.” That year, Doja Cat took home the award. Later, in 2022 they were nominated for “Butter” in the same category, but Ariana Grande and Lady Gaga won instead.

Finally, they received nominations for Best Music Video thanks to “Yet to Come” and Album of the Year and Pop Duo/Group Performance for the music they made with British band, Coldplay, but they didn’t win those categories either. Similarly, BLACKPINK technically has been nominated, as they have vocals in “Sour Candy,” a song in Lady Gaga’s album “Chromatica,” but they also didn’t win.

Now, let’s dive into the list:

Despite being on hiatus, the BTS members have been dropping their own solo music here and there. Due to this, it is not a surprise to see RM, Suga, Jungkook, Jimin, Jin and V sending their nominations for multiple categories. Check them out here:

In addition to our BTS kings, other Kpop juggernauts have also considered submitting their amazing bops for the Grammy Awards. We got names like Stray Kids, TOMORROW X TOGETHER, who sent multiple nominations to be considered. In contrast, NCT DREAM only thought about “Broken Melodies” for Best Pop Duo/Group Vocal Performance and SEVENTEEN for Best New Artist.

The only girl groups to submit were aespa, for Best New Artist, and lastly TWICE and FIFTY FIFTY for several categories. Finally, Jon Batiste submitted the song he made with NewJeans titled who you are “Be Who You Are,” but this would not be considered a “full” Kpop submission.

Let us know who would you like to receive an actual nomination in the comments below!
