Disney recently shocked the networks by announcing that it would produce a new live-action version of one of its children’s films, “Moana”, and The Rock will be on it  While there have been some issues with some titles, such as “The Little Mermaid,” this version has been widely embraced by the public.
Now, his followers were shocked to discover the news via Dwayne Johnson’s, The Rock, Instagram account. The talented actor and his children made a video to announce that Disney would be producing this version.
But what made this truth even more acceptable was Johnson’s announcement that he would be bringing to life “Maui,” a supporting figure in the children’s movie.
“Deeply honored to announce that we will be bringing the beautiful story of ‘Moana’ to the big live-action screen! This story is my culture, and this story is emblematic of the grace, mana and warrior strength of our people,” he wrote.
He added that this is a wonderful chance to pay tribute to his legacy:
“I wear our culture proudly on my skin and in my soul, and this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to reunite with MAUI, inspired by the spirit of my late grandfather, Grand Chief Peter Maivia, is profound for me.”- The Rock said
