Star News’ latest exclusive coverage talked about BLACKPINK’s four members (Jisoo Jennie, Rosé and Lisa) renewing contract with YG Entertainment. BLACKPINK debuted in August 2016, so their contract expires in August 2023. Korean media reported the following:
“According to people close to the members, BLACKPINK members, whose contracts are about to expire four months earlier, intend to continue their relationship with YG Entertainment unless there is a special reason. If BLACKPINK renews its contract in August, YG Entertainment will continue as a solid pillar of KPOP. Which includes G-Dragon, BLACKPINK, Winner, Akdong Musician, Treasure and rookie girl group Baby Monster, who are about to debut.”
On the other hand, Jisoo made history with countless records with her debut single album ‘ME’. One example was the pre-sales that the album made prior to its official release.

Regarding the contract renewal, YG Entertainment didn’t give an official statement, but it is expected that in this second quarter of the year, they will give the official report regarding the future of the four girls within the South Korean company.
