Zendaya has opened up about the ongoing rumors surrounding her relationship with Tom Holland and explained why she does not want to confirm or deny speculation about a possible marriage. During an episode of The New York Times podcast Modern Love, released on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, the Dune and Euphoria actress said she tries to keep certain parts of her life private. She also made it clear that this choice is not about hiding, but about protecting her relationship.

“I’m aware that I’m a public person and so is he, and I’m also aware that we’ve grown up in front of people and we’ve done movies where we fall in love with each other, so I really do understand that, and I don’t want to dismiss that like, ‘Stay out of my business’ or whatever.”

While promoting her new movie, The Drama, with co-star Robert Pattinson, Zendaya revealed she wants to preserve some personal moments for herself and Holland. According to the actress, keeping some aspects private helps them maintain joy within their relationship and among her friends and family. Regardless, she understands that the public is interested in her love life, especially because she has been seen wearing what many believe is a wedding band. However, she has expressed that there is no need to explain every detail.

“I hear it, but I also [have] my own little boundaries of what I like to bring up and talk about, but then also what I’m also willing to share, you know?” she said, adding, “I just try to find the balance in the middle there.”

The comments came after stylist Law Roach claimed about a month earlier that Zendaya and Holland had secretly married, which added even more attention to the rumors. Meanwhile, The Drama is scheduled to arrive in theaters on Friday, April 3, 2026.
