Over the past few weeks, Lisa has been one of the most discussed idols on social media for the past few weeks due to the rumors surrounding her contract renewal with YG Entertainment and the future of BLACKPINK. The girl group’s contract expired in August 2023 and, the South Korean entertainment agency finally addressed the status of Lisa’s contract renewal.
According to the different reports on social media, Lisa has received several offers from different entertainment agencies all over the world, including her home country, Thailand. On top of that, the Thai rapper allegedly rejected a ₩50 billion ($37 million) offer from YG Entertainment causing a stir among her fans, better known as BLINKs, and creating a lengthy discussion about the future of BLACKPINK.
Despite this, YG Entertainment quickly addressed the rumors and released a short statement through the media outlet TV Report:
“We are still discussing contract renewals with Lisa. The rumors that are going around are nothing that is confirmed.”
After the statement was posted, the BLINKs were relieved to find out that YG Entertainment and Lisa are still working on her future with the girl group. However, they didn’t reveal any further details regarding the ongoing negotiations with Lisa, Jisoo, Jennie, and Rosé so only time will tell what lies ahead for BLACKPINK.
