YG Entertainment is getting ready for an important year in 2026 as the company celebrates its 30th anniversary. At the same time, two of the company’s biggest groups, BIG BANG and BLACKPINK, will mark important milestones. BIG BANG will celebrate their 20th anniversary, while BLACKPINK will reach their 10th anniversary. Even though members of both groups now work under separate companies for their solo projects, both groups remain connected to YG and the groups where they came from.
One of the company’s biggest projects is BIG BANG’s anniversary comeback. The boy group is reportedly preparing a new album and a world tour connected to their August 19, 2026, anniversary celebration. In March 2026, YG founder Yang Hyun-suk revealed that he had reached an agreement with the members to hold concerts this year. In addition, more details came in April 2026 during the Coachella festival, where BIG BANG performed and then confirmed their tour would begin in August. The boy band performed as a trio and mixed classic hits with solo performances during the festival appearances.

Meanwhile, Blackpink is expected to focus on fan-centered anniversary projects around August 8, 2026. The group already wrapped up their “Deadline” world tour in January and released the EP “Deadline” in February 2026. According to YG, the BLACKPINK anniversary plans will include pop-up stores, unreleased videos, and special content created for longtime fans. However, a confirmed musical release has not been confirmed yet.
