Woman gives birth in a cab and is charged for “messing up” the car
Outrage was caused by the case of a woman in the United Kingdom who, after giving birth suddenly on board a cab, had to pay an additional sum to the driver for “dirtying her vehicle”. The unusual anecdote has gone viral on social networks and has unleashed a lot of criticism.
This is the case of Farah Cacanindin, a 26-year-old British woman, who suddenly gave birth while traveling in a cab on her way to the hospital for a routine medical check-up. Despite the uncomfortable conditions, the baby was delivered on board the taxi, safe and sound, and later arrived at the hospital where the condition of both mother and daughter was monitored
The real problem arose days after the baby was born, since the cab driver sent the mother an invoice in which he charged her for the inconveniences after her delivery, referring to an “extra” cost of 90 pounds sterling for the cleaning of the car.
This amount was in addition to the 30 pounds corresponding to the fare for the trip which surprised Farah Cacanindin, since the mother recognized that, although she had made a mess after the birth of her baby, the amount the cab driver was charging her for this concept was shameless, she added:
“I understand that I made a mess, but it’s a bit cheeky to have charged me,” she assured.

It was the fastest delivery of my life. My water broke five minutes into the ride. The driver asked me if I wanted him to stop, but I told him to keep going because I thought I would get there before he was born (…) It was surreal. I didn’t have a chance to be afraid.
This story quickly went viral and caused great debate in networks. Some considered it an abuse, while others defended the cab company because they think it is not something they should have to pay for.
