It is well known that superhero movies are not going through the best time we would all like, but it could be that what is happening is much more serious than we thought, as recently information has been uncovered that could put the studio in more trouble.
Not only Hollywood is going through a complicated time, specifically superhero movies since before the strikes were not having a good reception at the box office, but apparently, the crisis it is experiencing is much bigger than we think.
Variety uncovers huge crisis that Marvel is going through
The studio’s executives, headed by its leader Kevin Feige, had a private meeting last September, according to a report recently published by Variety. Several topics were discussed, but what caught the most attention was what was mentioned about actor Jonathan Majors, who will face a trial for having assaulted a woman in a domestic violence case.
Executives agreed to eliminate the Kang scenarios and add a new villain, Dr. Doom, at the meeting in Palm Springs. But this is not the only problem they are facing, as it is estimated that the new famous production of The Marvels will be a failure at the box office and will accumulate little or no profits.
“If you’re directing a $250 million movie, it’s a little strange for the director to leave with a few months to go,” a source familiar with the production told Variety.
Marvel executives were so desperate that they thought about reviving deceased characters in the films, such as Iron Man and Black Widow, which star Robert Downey Jr. and Scarlett Johansson.
