TWICE’s Chaeyoung has just reflected on the most challenging moments of her career in the Kpop industry. The idol revealed a shocking moment that almost made her quit TWICE, so what was the reason behind all that?

On October 9, Chaeyoung was featured in a new episode of the YouTube show SPNS TV titled “Chaeyoung and Shoes Off EP.74 | Idols Are People Too.” The idol made a special appearance to celebrate TWICE’s 10th anniversary. Then, Chaeyoung talked about the hardest parts of her career.

“I clenched my teeth and endured it. Even if you love what you do, it is still a job, and you cannot always do only what you love. When the schedule gets packed, your body becomes exhausted, but you still have to do things you do not want to. I held on while trying to take care of my inner self.”

Despite loving what she does, she confessed she wasn’t able to sleep well, and became a huge factor to consider if she would still like being an idol. At one point, she even thought to quit TWICE, and her mother brought her back to the ground:

The most difficult time was during our “Cheer Up” and “TT” promotions. I only had about 30 minutes to sleep and still had to go to school. At one point, I said, ‘I don’t think I can do TWICE anymore.’ I really did not know if I could keep doing it. It was serious, and I even fought a lot with my mom about it. She told me, ‘You have worked so hard for three and a half years, don’t you think it would be a waste to stop now?’”
