TWICE wins Best Female KPop Artist at the American Music Awards

TWICE achieved an important global achievement on May 26, 2026, after winning Best Female KPop Artist at the 52nd American Music Awards. The group competed against strong competition, including girl groups like aespa, BLACKPINK, ILLIT, and LE SSERAFIM. This marked TWICE’s first victory at the award show after previously being nominated in 2022. After the winning announcement, the members thanked fans through their official X account and shared their appreciation for the support that helped them receive the award.

The American Music Awards winners are decided entirely through fan voting, making the honor especially meaningful for artists with strong international fandoms. In their acceptance video, TWICE thanked their fans, known as Once, for voting and supporting them throughout the process. The members wrote that they could not have achieved the victory without them. The award reflects the group’s steady popularity around the world as they continue performing in sold-out venues across several continents.

The important milestone arrives while TWICE is still traveling on its “This Is For” World Tour, which began in Incheon in July 2025. The tour includes 78 shows across 43 cities and has become the largest tour of the group’s career. Earlier in 2026, the nine-member team completed the North American leg after performing 35 concerts in 20 cities and attracting around 550,000 fans. The “Moonlight Sunrise” singers also became the first overseas act to headline Tokyo National Stadium in Japan. After recent performances in cities like Paris, Berlin, and Barcelona, TWICE is now moving forward with the European part of the tour with a concert scheduled in Cologne, Germany, on May 27, 2026.
