All kinds of idols have suffered from the invasion of privacy by some lunatic fans, known as sasaengs, in the Kpop scene. Particularly, TWICE has opened up about their experiences, and they are even considering taking legal action against those who have a privacy-invasive behavior
On December 15, JYP Entertainment, TWICE’s music agency, posted a notice on the official fan community platform FANS, stating that some sasaengs were crossing all the lines by intruding on the members’ private lives or even making excessive approaches during the group’s personal time and private, non-public schedules.
JYP Entertainment is ready to take the next legal step
The music agency has explained that this kind of behaviour has caused physical burden and stress for the artists. There will be no mercy for those who threaten the well-being of JYP Entertainment’s idols by releasing the following statement:
“If these behaviors continue or situations that make the members uncomfortable persist, we will take necessary measures to protect our artists. We will do our utmost to ensure that our artists can continue their activities and rest in as stable an environment as possible. We once again ask for fans’ mature consideration and cooperation.”
