TWICE has joined forces to make a huge donation and sent deep condolences to all of the victims and affected Citizens of the recent fire in Hong Kong. The idols, once again, are committed to making the world a better place.
JYP Entertainment announced via Weibo that the group donated 1 million HDK, approximately 128,000 USD, to World Vision Hong Kong. The funds will be used for emergency relief efforts, including psychological support, temporary housing, and educational and livelihood assistance for affected children and residents.
Will TWICE perform in Hong Kong amid the chaos?
TWICE is currently scheduled to perform at the Hong Kong Kai Tak Stadium from December 6 to 7. JYP Entertainment wanted to clear the air and released a heartfelt statement amid the recent incident in the country.
We consulted with the organiser, Live Nation, while monitoring the local situation. Ultimately, we decided to proceed with the performance as planned. Since this decision was made with a heavy heart, we will do our best to prepare and operate the concert with an even more solemn attitude.We express our deep condolences to those who passed away in this unexpected accident and offer sincere comfort to the bereaved families and everyone suffering due to this fire. We sincerely hope the situation stabilises and the affected areas recover as soon as possible.”
