RM honored his longtime musical hero Nas during BTS’ concert at MetLife Stadium on August 2, 2026. While speaking to the crowd in East Rutherford, New Jersey, the BTS leader explained that Nas had influenced him throughout his teenage years. Then, he introduced the American rapper as the “King of New York” and told the audience that the hip-hop legend was attending the concert.

“I want to shout out to the artist who dominated my whole teenage [years],” RM shared with concert-goers. “King of New York, big Nas is here tonight!”
After the concert, the South Korean rapper posted a backstage photo with Nas and fellow BTS member Suga on Instagram Stories. Nas himself later reposted the image and praised the performance, describing it as an “AMAZING SHOW.” RM has long spoken openly about Nas for years. The August 2 concert was BTS’ second performance at MetLife Stadium during the ARIRANG World Tour. The seven-member team had also previously appeared at the stadium during the FIFA World Cup Final halftime show in July 2026, sharing the stage with Madonna, Justin Bieber, and Shakira. Meanwhile, BTS will continue touring across the United States and Canada through early September. After that, RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook are expected to start their Latin American run, bringing the tour to more international fans.
