Once the final whistle blew at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, Crown Princess Leonor and Princess Sofia joined King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia to congratulate Spain’s national team at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The royal family celebrated alongside the players as they lifted the famous World Cup trophy after defeating Argentina in overtime. The iconic golden trophy was designed by Silvio Gazzaniga, making July 19, 2026 a historic national celebration for Spain.

Adding to the festive vibes, Leonor and Sofia congratulated the players and smiled alongside the team. Instead of going for matching looks, they carefully coordinated their outfits by reversing each other’s color choices. Leonor selected a white short-sleeved shirt from Madrid-based brand Mirto, pairing it with dark red pants. Meanwhile, Sofia wore a red blouse with loose white pants. Leonor completed her look with a gold heart-shaped necklace and earrings by CXC. In contrast, Sofia kept her style clean and simple without jewelry. In addition, their style selections complemented Queen Letizia’s bright red dress by Adolfo Domínguez and King Felipe VI’s matching red tie.

This is not the first time the two royal sisters celebrate their country at the World Cup! Spain’s latest victory also reminded many people of another special moment from Sofia and Leonor’s childhood, after their country won the global tournament in 2010. Back then, the sister duo appeared in Madrid wearing matching Spanish national team jerseys while celebrating with goalkeeper Iker Casillas. More than a decade later, the sisters once again stood beside Spain’s champions, showing national pride and a coordinated (but individual) fashion effort in the process.
