Kate Middleton, Princess of Wales, seems to want to break an important and old tradition that has transcended for generations in the royal family, and this will depend on the decision she makes regarding her eldest son, Prince George, and his pre-university education.
For previous generations, princes have been educated at Eton College, like Prince William and Harry, an elite institution that respects the ancient traditions of the British crown, providing a formation worthy of a royal member, but the Princess of Wales does not seem to be sure of continuing that legacy.
Although there are at least three years to make the decision, as the young prince has recently turned 10 and the minimum age for admission to the institution is 13 years, his mother Kate has already shown interest in Marlborough College, a very prestigious institution that she has recently visited.
It is presumed that her tour through the facilities was with the intention of knowing the place and collecting more information about the entity in order to be able to come to a decision on the academic future of the firstborn of the Duke of Cambridge and second in the line of succession to the throne.
One of the most distinctive features between the two academic institutions is that Malborough College is completely mixed, where boys and girls can study together, unlike Eton College, where their education is exclusively for boys, which is possibly not to Middleton’s liking.
Another important factor that the dukes have in mind is the distance of these institutions. Eton College is located near Windsor Castle, while Malborough College is established in the Wiltshire region, south of England, which may not be entirely positive.
