Netflix’s “King of the Land” probably represents the international success that any K-drama would like to have upon its premiere. The series was both critically acclaimed and turned into the hottest k-drama to ever set the trends in the most countries, all simultaneously. The series achieved so much in spite of running just for two months in Netflix’s top 10.

Now that King of the Land has culminated with a final episode, thousands of fans have been eagerly awaiting an announcement regarding a second season. Unfortunately, they will have to come to terms with the fact the beloved K-drama might not be returning to small screens. Sadly, there are some reasons why Netflix will probably not produce a second part for King of the Land.

These are the reasons why Netflix's 'King The Land' might not have a second season

First, there is the fact that the protagonists, YoonA (a Girls’ Generation member) and Jun-ho (from 2PM) are two big popular stars, who also have responsibilities on the K-pop idol fields, which is already difficult and demanding. The second reason is that the series have already ended with a “closed-chapter” and this did not provide any chances to keep the story going.

As a result, one of Netflix’s most popular South Korean series in 2023 might not be coming back to the streaming platform with a second season. King of the Land has already ended its weekly-episode premiere with a total of 16 episodes, the standard for most current K-dramas.

At the moment, there has been no news regarding the upcoming projects of the main actors for the series, but we will keep you updated!
