The Squid Game was a hit as soon as it came out, due to the fact that it was a very different approach to what we were used to seeing on Netflix, so the series broke viewing records worldwide.
It was quickly confirmed that a second season would be released, which to date is still highly anticipated, but in the meantime they have given us a pretty interesting product and it is a real life Squid Game, with the opportunity to win thousands of dollars, but in the end it could not go the way everyone wants.
Squid Game players threaten to sue show for injuries
The problem, say lawyers for the participants, is that the game was held in Bedford during Britain’s dangerous cold snap. Some participants experienced hypothermia and even still have sequelae.
“We have sent letters of claim on behalf of the contestants injured in the program. From what they have told us, they overstepped the bounds of safety in the name of entertainment,” the statement said.
“The contestants claim they suffered injuries such as hypothermia and nerve damage as a result of poor health and safety standards on the set of producer Studio Lambert,” adds The Hollywood Reporter
The series “The Squid Game” became one of the most watched series on Netflix after its premiere on December 17. In this story, a mysterious survival game with various children’s games that have deadly outcomes allows 456 contestants with serious money problems to participate and win 45.6 billion won, thus solving all their money problems.
No doubt we will have to wait and see what the lawyers say, because most likely they have signed a contract where they would agree and with that, there is nothing to do.
