The movie ‘The Nightmare Before Christmas‘, based on a tale by the acclaimed Tim Burton and directed by Henry Selick, celebrates thirty years since its release in theaters. It has been positioned as a success since its release and has become a classic of the festivities.
Although it is true that three decades have passed since its release, this amazing stop-motion that has become an icon of the industry is considered to have a sequel. This film has had a great generational impact on many viewers, who have been asking for a second installment for a long time.
The director said in a recent interview for People magazine that ‘The Nightmare Before Christmas’ is “a perfect movie, which came out at the perfect time, only to become something much bigger over the years“, confirming that he would not be interested in making a sequel.
However, he clarified that the idea of a prequel seems more interesting to him. “There could be a more interesting story about how Jack became the King of Halloweentown“, said the director, suggesting that the public would be more interested in knowing the origins of Jack.
For his part, Chris Sarandon, who voices the main character, supports the director’s idea by saying that he is absolutely interested and available if an agreement is reached. Henry also confessed to people the willingness he has: “If there was a prequel, I’d be there in a minute“.

Sarandon would have no problem repeating his role since, from the moment the film was recorded until today, he continues to provide the voice for the character, whether for a video game, a commercial, live programs, or any other event that requires Jack.
