Chappell Roan x The Royal Family? Talk about an unexpected crossover! On July 6, 2025, King Charles lll and Queen Camilla’s official Instagram account shared a video from the Pride in London Parade. In front of Buckingham Palace, the Coldstream Guards performed an orchestral rendition of Chappell Roan’s queer anthem Pink Pony Club.

The parade wrapped up Pride Month with over 35,000 participants sashaying through the streets of London, featuring everything from fierce drag queens to bikers in leather. But the royal moment stole the show online. The Instagram caption simply read “Happy Pride!” For a monarchy that’s historically been quiet on LGBTQ+ matters, this felt like a step forward.
As #Pride month draws to a close, the Prince of Wales has appeared in a poignant video to discuss mental health in the LGBTQ+ community, in which he reflects on the importance of 'open conversation' https://t.co/Rf3ZcdfY57 pic.twitter.com/81ydX8CdCk

The royal family has slowly become more vocal about LGBTQ+ matters over the years. Back in 2019, Prince William spoke about how he would fully support one of his children coming out. His only concern? How the public would treat them. “It’s not about them being gay,” he said. “It’s about how others react. The Prince also made a heartfelt appearance in a 2023 discussing mental health with volunteers from The Mix and Shout charities. The conversation took place at the Royal Vauxhall Tavern, known for its gay cabaret and drag performances.
Just like that, it looks like the Royal Family decided to shine with the colors of the rainbow at the very end of Pride Month, marking a royal and glamorous mix.
