The producers of the 2026 Oscars have unveiled details about two of the tracks nominated for Best Original Song. Raj Kapoor and Katy Mullan said the ceremony will include live performances of “Golden” from KPop Demon Hunters and “I Lied to You” from Sinners. These are the only two nominated songs that will be performed live during the ceremony.
According to the producers, the musical performances were designed around the cultural impact of both movies. First, the KPop Demon Hunters segment will begin with traditional Korean musicians and dance performances that reflect the folklore and culture surrounding the animated film. Then, EJAE, AUDREY NUNA, and REI AMI, the singing voices for HUNTR/X, will perform “Golden.”
The Sinners segment will focus on the way music supports the film’s storytelling. Miles Caton and Raphael Saadiq will perform “I Lied to You” on stage. They will also be joined by Misty Copeland, Eric Gales, Buddy Guy, Brittany Howard, Christone “Kingfish” Ingram, Jayme Lawson, Li Jun Li, Bobby Rush, Shaboozey, and Alice Smith. In addition, Josh Groban and the Los Angeles Master Chorale are expected to be on the show.
Raj Kapoor and Katy Mullan shared that more talent announcements will be made before March 15, 2026. Meanwhile, the 98th Oscars will take place on Sunday, March 15, 2026, at the Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood. Conan O’Brien will host the event, which will air live at 7 p.m. ET and 4 p.m. PT on ABC, with streaming available on Hulu.
