And just like that, Taylor Swift rewrote streaming history! On October 3, 2025, only hours after dropping her 12th studio album “The Life of a Showgirl,” Spotify confirmed it became the most-streamed album in a single day this year. The crown was previously held by Playboi Carti’s “Music,” which dropped in March.

Her new record includes the hit single “The Fate of Ophelia,” which now holds the title of most-streamed song in a single day in Spotify history. Taking to Instagram, Taylor Swift herself told fans, “I can’t tell you how proud I am to share this with you, an album that just feels so right.” She teased that if fans thought the big show was wild, the behind-the-curtain experience would be even wilder, possibly hinting at the album’s accompanying film, “The Official Release Party of a Showgirl.”

The pop queen first revealed the project in August this year on her fiancé Travis Kelce’s podcast New Heights. With producers Max Martin and Shellback on board, the 12-track album was crafted in Sweden during her record-breaking Eras Tour. Now, with the Life of a Showgirl, Taylor Swift is proving that she’s basically the music industry itself, breaking streaming records left and right.
