Taylor Swift is expanding The Life of a Showgirl era with a new edition featuring four additional songs! On Wednesday, September 23, the singer announced The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore, which will be released on Friday, September 25, 2026, and will include the previously announced song “Patient Zero.” The expanded edition is already available for pre-order and adds a new layer to an album that dominated the charts right after its initial release on October 3 last year.
“I took a trip to Sweden to celebrate with Max [Martin] and Shellback, my two collaborators on this album. Really, we just wanted to reflect and take in how grateful we were for the moment we were in, but there was a studio there, and we did what we do when we feel anything at all: We wrote more songs,” the singer revealed in the announcement of The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore.
The four new tracks are “Patient Zero,” “Pink Clouding,” “Babylon” and “Cleveland!” The final title references Taylor Swift’s husband, Travis Kelce, whose hometown is Cleveland Heights, Ohio. The artist said she wrote the new songs with her fans in mind and accompanied the announcement with new artwork for the project, showing her in a glittering gold dress against a purple, stage-inspired backdrop.
The announcement comes during a particularly busy week for Taylor Swift, who first revealed “Patient Zero” on September 22 after a countdown on her website and a series of cryptic clues. The hints included replacing the letter “o” with zeros in her Instagram bio and The Life of a Showgirl lyrics on Apple Music. The artist is also gearing up to receive the inaugural Artist Director Honors at the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards on September 27. The award recognizes artists whose work behind the camera has expanded music video storytelling, adding another milestone for the songwriter, singer, and now iconic director.
