What’s up Swiftie fam? Our pop queen Taylor Swift isn’t done with giving us that “Lover” magic we have been enjoying since 2019. This week, she decided to surprise stans with the live version of her sleeper hit, “Cruel Summer.” You read that right! Four years after the official release of the album, she keeps feeding us like no other.
“Cruel Summer” originally saw the light of day in August 2019, but Tay-Tay didn’t forget about this timeless bop, and included it in her colossal “Eras Tour,” during the section where she sings some of the jams from the “Lover” album. At that moment, “Cruel Summer” was reborn, re-entered the charts, and became another smash in Taylor’s extensive bop catalog.
But enough context: this time, Taylor spilled that she was releasing the live version and the remix version of “Cruel Summer” through X (originally known as Twitter). The hitmaker took her profile to thank fans for the unconditional support they’ve given her concert film and the song (which is currently sitting super comfy at the 9th spot in the Billboard Hot 100). Here’s what she had to say:
“One of my favorite things you’ve done was when you supported Cruel Summer SO much, I ended up starting The Eras Tour show with it. For old times sake, I’m releasing the live audio from the tour, so we can all shriek it in the comfort of our homes and cars PLUS a brand new remix by @LPGiobbi.”

Tay-Tay is known for watching over fans (quite literally) at every moment, and this time we’ve been compensated for the mad love we’ve shown to her recently -and we deserved it! Need proof? Well Taylor just broke records with her concert film and revived a 2019 song out of the ashes, so we’re loving this lovely gesture our pop queen has!
