In a recent interview with the newspaper El Pais, actress Sofia Vergara reveals the real reason why she divorced Joe Manganiello after 8 years of marriage: they had differences over expanding their family, which led to the end of their relationship.
“My marriage broke up because my husband was younger; he wanted to have kids, and I didn’t want to be an old mom“, confessed Vergara.
“I feel it’s not fair to the baby. I respect whoever does it, but that’s not for me anymore“, she continued.
The model also told the newspaper about her son, Manolo, who is currently 32 years old and who was born from the relationship she had with Joe Gonzalez, her ex-husband, when she was 19 years old. She added, “I’m ready to be a grandmother, not a mother. So, if love comes along, he has to come with his own children“.
“I’m almost in menopause; it’s the natural way of things”, said Sofia about her decision to not have more kids.
“When my son becomes a dad, let him bring the baby to me for a while, and then I’ll give it back to him and go on with my life; that’s what I have to do”, she finally said.
