Snow White's live-action reboot trailer is now playing in theaters

Disney is officially promoting its OG princess tale: Snow White. The full trailer was shown for the first time yesterday, November 21, 2024, in United States theaters in front of the Wicked movie. This film, scheduled for a 2025 release, will give a new take on the 1937 animated classic with a script by Greta Gerwig (Barbie) and Erin Cressida Wilson, and stars Rachel Zegler (West Side Story) as Snow White and Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman) as the Evil Queen.

While the plot stays close to the original, this Snow White will not play into the damsel-waiting-for-a-prince role. In this upcoming version, she’s an independent 18-year-old, whose main qualities are resilience and strength.  The movie is set to feature both songs from the original film and brand-new tracks by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, who worked in La La Land and The Greatest Showman.

Originally set for March 22, 2024, the release has been delayed to March 21, 2025, due to the SAG-AFTRA strike. Check out the trailer being displayed in theaters here:
