SM Entertainment has shared a new long-term goal as it works toward becoming a stronger global K-pop company. On January 20, 2026, the company released a video titled “SM Next 3.0” on its official YouTube channel. The presentation introduced an updated strategy that builds on the current “SM 3.0 framework” and focuses on a multi-creative production system designed to support growth and change.

Under this plan, SM Entertaiment will continue developing its five-unit multi-production structure. CEO Tak Young Joon explained that artists will remain the top priority for the agency, with creators being carefully matched to each artist. He also stated that the company wants a more flexible creative system to respond to changing trends and new artistic needs. This approach is meant to allow different creative teams to work more freely around each artist.
The company confirmed plans to debut a new boy group in 2026. The members may be selected from the trainee team SMTR25. However, additional details haven’t been announced. The group is expected to be introduced gradually through the variety program “Reply High School,” scheduled to air in early 2026. SM Entertaiment also unveiled its global expansion plans, including partnerships in China, Thailand, and Japan, and set a goal to become Asia’s largest music publishing company within five years.
