Shownu from Monsta X has beenput in a hiatus. This Monday, May 3, the temporary pause of Shownu, leader of Monsta X, was announced due to a health problem.

According to the Starship Entertainment agency, the 28-year-old artist was diagnosed with a left retinal detachment, and as a result, he will be removed from his professional activities while his health improves.

The information was made public through a statement on Twitter, detailing Shownu’s situation after undergoing surgery in July last year. The agency says that during preparations for Monsta X’s new comeback, the artist began to feel discomfort at the sight of him and a hiatus was indicated. The statement said:

He immediately visited the hospital for an examination and received the appropriate medical treatment. The result showed that the discomfort was created by subretinal fluid and proliferative retinopathy as a compilation of retinal detachment and Shownu was recommended to take considerable rest time to avoid relapse or further deterioration.”

.

The news comes shortly after Monsta X announced their return, scheduled for June 1, with the mini album “One of a Kind.” Last Saturday, May 1, the first teaser of the project was released.

In addition, on Wednesday May 5 the group will release the Japanese album “Flavors of Love”. Let’s hope that the popular idol manages to recover very soon.

In other news, May will be a great month for K-pop fans.

On May 21, BTS makes their first comeback of 2021 with the single “Butter“, which promises a very danceable “vibe” with all English lyrics. Along with the announcement, the group released a disclosure schedule with the goal of dividing the materials in advance throughout the month until the official release.

On the other hand, TXT will release the album “The Chaos Chapter: FREEZE” on May 31st. The announcement was made after various speculation, and a teaser for the album was posted on the group’s website. The comeback will take place seven months from the last TXT release and comes out shortly after they were featured on American television.
