The rapper of the group confirmed this news through a handwritten letter on Weverse. He is going to be enlisting in the military next week, specifically on December 21. In the letter, he apologizes to fans for confirming his upcoming military duties so late but says he expects them to be understanding.
“Hello, this is Sehun.
Is everyone doing okay and staying healthy?
I am writing this today because there is something I want to tell you.
I will begin my military service on December 21. I’m apologetic about telling this news to EXO-L so late.I’ve been spending time alone these days, looking after myself, and deeply contemplating.
This is why I’m greeting you like this without standing in front of you.
I hope you will understand me not being able to greet you in person. I am really thankful to everyone who cares for me.I hope everyone stays healthy until the day we meet again.

Most EXO members have already completed their military service, with Baekhyun being the latest to do so in February this year. As of now, Kai and Sehun are the only ones left to fulfill this duty.
