2024 has been a great year in music because of several comebacks, including Taylor Swift and Beyoncé, some iconic new artists, and the incursion of the Kpop industry into the American market. These smash songs played on every street, however, they weren’t been able to reach the No.1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100, the United States music official chart system.

9. Chappell Roan’s “Good Luck, Babe!:” The artist skyrocketed her career with her 2023 album, “The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess.” However, she garnered a greater audience after releasing the first single of her upcoming project. “Good Luck, Babe!” reached the No. 4 spot on the Billboard Hot 100.

8. The Weeknd, Jennie & Lily-Rose Depp “One of the Girls”: The MAX’s series, “The Idol” brought thousands of comments online and also delivered some of the greatest songs from the Weekend. With the participation of BLACKPINK’s Jennie, everyone could believe they topped at least the Top 10 of the chart. However, they landed at No. 51.

7. Sabrina Carpenter’s “Espresso”: “That’s that me, espresso” was one of the most popular catchy lyrics from this year. An iconic music video and great performances weren’t enough for the song to reach the No. 1 spot. Ultimately, the song reached No. 3.

  • 6. Billie Eilish’s “Birds of a Feather”: “Hit Me Hard and Soft” is probably one of the favorite contenders for Album of the Year, the album spawned off amazing singles, including “Birds of Feather,” which reached No. 2 spot, becoming the most successful song from her third studio album.

    5. BTS’ Jimin’s “WHO”: Jimin keeps breaking records across the country with the success of his sophomore album, “MUSE,” and his title song, “WHO.” Everyone could swear that Jimin’s “WHO” is way more popular than his No. 1 single, “Like Crazy.” However, the song only peaked at No. 12 and it is still charting.

4. Tate Mcrae’s “Greedy” What a way to start her music career with a top 10 inside of the Billboard Hot 100, “Greedy” earned the attention of thousands of fans since it became really popular in TikTok. The artist’s hit song reached the No. 3 spot and stayed strong for 42 weeks in the chart.

3. Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars’ “Die With a Smile”: Undoubtedly, one of the best ballads and duets from this year, the two artists brought to the table a brand new song that could be used in weddings. However, it only peaked at No. 3. The song is still charting and fighting its way to the No. 1 spot.

2. Tyla’s “Water”: The Afrobeats became popular in the United States in the last couple of months, and “Water” was the living proof of it. Although the song only reached the No. 7 spot on the Billboard Hot 100, it is considered one of the most popular this year.

1. Sabrina Carpenter’s “Taste”: After Sabrina Carpenter’s imminent success with “Please, Please, Please,” the artist was ready to take the crown once again. However, the song blocked her from getting the No. 1 spot, reaching the No.2 and having secured the top two of the Billboard Hot 100.
