The 44th Princess of Asturias Awards ceremony was in full swing at Oviedo’s Teatro Campoamor this past Friday. Princess Leonor of Spain dazzled the crowd with her speech, even announcing the 2025 edition of the awards. But things got spicier when the cameras captured an unexpected moment in the theater lobby.

After a warm hug between Leonor and King Felipe VI, a sudden shift occurred. Queen Sofía stepped down from her box seat, ready to congratulate her granddaughter, Leonor, passing right by Infanta Sofía like she was invisible. With her arm around Leonor, she kissed the heir to the throne, but something seemed off. Princess Leonor quickly greeted her grandmother, rapidly walking past her to reunite with her parents.
