Princess Kate Middleton’s connection to Harriet Sperling’s wedding dress

Princess Kate Middleton’s influence on royal fashion was visible in Harriet Sperling’s wedding day look for her marriage to Peter Phillips on June 6, 2026. The ceremony took place at All Saints Church in Kemble, Gloucestershire, in the Cotswolds. The fashion game did not fall short, as Harriet chose a floor-length gown by Emilia Wickstead, one of the designers most frequently worn by the Princess of Wales. Harriet completed her bridal ensemble with a lace veil, custom ivory satin Jimmy Choo heels, and a tiara and earrings from Pragnell, the same Mayfair jeweler that created her engagement ring. The gown featured a long train and lace overlay, providing the look with a timeless style.

The designer’s choice connected Harriet to Princess Kate Middleton’s wardrobe

Emilia Wickstead is one of Kate Middleton’s most recognizable fashion labels, making Harriet’s choice a standout decision for royal fans. The Princess of Wales has worn Wickstead designs for numerous public outings, including the purple coat dress she selected for the 80th anniversary of VE Day events in London in May 2025. By choosing the same designer, Harriet aligned her wedding style with a fashion house that has become a reflection of current royal fashion.

“Crafted from Italian crêpe, the gown and train are internally structured with French lace, creating a sculptural hold that allows the train to extend into a striking linear shape,” a press release regarding Harriet and Peter’s wedding said. “The clean, elongated train serves as a defining design element, lending the gown a timeless elegance while maintaining a distinctly modern sensibility.”

“The dress itself features a square neckline and a low back, sculpted closely to the body to create a refined silhouette. Layered over the gown is a removable sheer lace bodice with a high neckline and transparent sleeves, adding softness and dimension to the overall look.”

The bridesmaids’ dresses symbolized the couple’s blended family

Wickstead also designed the gowns for the three bridesmaids, which were all made from the same Italian crepe used in Harriet’s wedding dress, according to Vogue. The bridesmaids were Peter’s daughters, Savannah and Isla, from his previous marriage to Autumn Kelly, and Harriet’s daughter, Georgina, from her relationship with Antonio St. John Sperling.
