Prince William is currently receiving a lot of criticism for doing several things that have caused discontent among the Welsh people. After several terrible mistakes and a rocky start, people are now comparing him to King Charles III who used to hold the same position in the past.
Although William has only been in the position for a few months, his duty as the Prince of Wales is off to a rocky start. Everything began after he was not impartial during the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar and showed his support for the English team in a match against the team of Wales. This was considered a terrible mistake because it could have easily caused a conflict between the two countries.
On top of that, it has been reported that he barely knows the language and culture of the nation of almost 3 million people. As the future ruler of the United Kingdom, it is highly important that he is knowledgeable about all the countries that are part of the U.K. and not only England.
After all of this happened, people immediately raised comparisons between Prince William and King Charles III as he used to hold the same title in the past. During his time as the Prince of Wales, Charles showed that he knew a lot about the Welsh language and culture so he was widely supported by the Welsh people.
Although William’s reign is still a few years away, it is necessary that he starts to work on getting the public’s support all around the United Kingdom. The royalty is losing popularity among the younger generations so he wants to fix his mistakes and earn their hearts.
