Prince Harry returned to his hometown after presenting a lawsuit against the publishers of the Daily Mail, accusing them of invading his privacy by using unlawful information-gathering tactics and creating sensational headlines about his private life moments.
Since then, the Duke of Sussex has been attending the High Court, and he is ready to start a nine-week privacy trial against Associated Newspapers, which is expected to cost a combined total of more than £38 million.
Prince Harry is currently claiming that some of the information in the articles was obtained by voicemail interception and paying inquiry agents to blag private information. Daily Mail Publisher has strongly denied the allegations, stating they obtained entirely legitimately from information variously provided by contacts of the journalists responsible and Prince Harry’s friends.
“At all material times, the Duke of Sussex’s social circle was and was known to be a good source of leaks or disclosure of information to the media about what he got up to in his private life.”
It is expected that new documents and evidence will be released through the nine-week trial. For now, Prince Harry has received a low blow from the Daily Mail, which might be ruling in favor of the Publisher.
