Prince Harry and his wife, whom he had met a few years prior, agreed to quit the British monarchy in 2020. He told her about his struggles to find a meaningful position for himself within the royal family and how he frequently considered leaving, but he always remained loyal to his grandmother Queen Elizabeth because of this.
The prince at the time, at the age of 32, said “I have been kicking my heels for many years and I didn’t want to grow up, I felt I wanted to get out, but then stay and find a role for myself”.
This documented incident surely puts an end to all the theories that suggested that Meghan Markle’s pressure upon Prince Harry led to his resignation from the royal family. Even Nevertheless, it is evident that Prince Harry’s dream was granted because he now resides in the United States with his wife, two children, and a “completely normal” existence free of numerous restrictions.
