Prince Harry has been in the midst of the controversy since the release of his memoir, ‘Spare’, in January, where he harshly attacked the royal family and highlighted racist behaviors towards Meghan Markle. In addition, he filed a lawsuit against British tabloids for invading his private life and disclosing information, however, he did not emerge victorious from either of the two disputes.
Considering the impact of Prince Harry’s declarations, he found himself going to the United Kingdom to testify in court against British tabloids such as The Sun, a couple of times. Although the outlook seemed in favor of the Duke of Sussex, the judges completely dismissed the prince’s declarations.
During the court citations, Prince Harry assured Buckingham Palace and British tabloids were complicit for hacking his phone and disclosing private information. However, the judge concluded there was “no reasonable prospect” of the prince proving during the trial.
“He already knew that in relation to the News of the World, and he could easily have found out by making basic inquiries that he was likely to have a similar claim in relation to articles published by the Sun.”
Finally, the judge declared the “lack of credibility” and “the improbability of a secret agreement being made” as an inconsistency in the duke’s case. However, Prince Harry could still be in legal fighting with British tabloids during the next year, despite the fact he already faced six legal battles at the high court in recent months.
