Prince Harry and King Charles III’s relationship has been trembling since the Prince’s memoir, “Spare” released in 2023. The pair is reportedly not talking to each other and the King has been ignoring his son’s calls since a couple of weeks ago.
Tom Quinn, author of “Scandals of the Royal Palaces: An Intimate Memoir of Royals Behaving Badly” told The Mirror that the Duke of Sussex always felt that King Charles III treated Prince William like his favorite. Ultimately, the situation leads to volatility in the family dynamics.
“Harry’s real beef is that he is convinced Charles always preferred William anyway and not just because William is the heir. Harry’s difficulties when he was a teenager and his increasing volatility as an adult terrified Charles who turned to the far more stable, risk-free William.”
Quinn also noticed that King Charles III saw Prince William as a safe pair of hands and Harry as too emotionally unstable. The relationship went downhill and there might not be a chance to return things to their halcyon days.
