One Piece just beat Wednesday on Netflix and became the best debut the streaming service has ever had up until now. The platform has confirmed that the live-action version of the beloved One Piece manga (and anime) is breaking records across the globe and has finally put a stop at the “history of failure” manga and anime adaptations have, which is an issue that the original author has mentioned in recent interviews.

The crazy hype about One Piece is just starting, as the series has been getting breath-taking records just a couple of days after its release. The adaptation (made in collaboration with Eiichiro Oda himself) was able to reach the top spot on Netflix, in more than 80 countries two days after its premiere on the platform.  One Piece beats Wednesday and is now Netflix's all-time best debut

Thanks to this massive success, One Piece was able to beat Wednesday, which is also one of Netflix’s most popular series. However, it is still unknown if the live-action adaptation will get a chance to be the biggest weekly debut in Netflix’s history, but experts state that it has a very good chance to break that very record, too.

The hype about the One Piece live-action has grown and spread quickly throughout the Internet, to the point where fans are already expecting Netflix to start producing the second season of the show. The series will for sure remain at the top of the platform’s raking for quite some time in several countries. Thanks to this, its weekly views might increase to millions in just a couple of days.
