And as online chatter around the singer keeps getting louder, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell has stepped in to casually hint at the “Blank Space” hitmaker possibly headlining the halftime show.
Stopping by the Today Show on September 3, 2025, he kept things playful, calling Taylor Swift a “special, special talent” and saying she’s welcome anytime. When pressed for a straight answer, he dodged, but not without teasing fans with a “It’s a maybe.” Add to that her upcoming album, The Life of a Showgirl,” dropping on October 3, plus her engagement to Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce, and the timing feels suspiciously perfect!

The halftime show at the Super Bowl has become legendary, with Kendrick Lamar making a social commentary and bringing the house down earlier this year. Most recently, Billboard speculated that other possible headliners for the event could be Lady Gaga, Drake, Mariah Carey, Justin Bieber, BTS, or Metallica. However, as Goodell himself admitted, the decision lies with Jay-Z, who’s been producing the halftime show with Roc Nation since 2020.
