In a recent statement, SM Entertainment announced the departure of member Lucas from the agency and from his role in NCT and WayV, after the idol was seen involved in criticism and controversy for action in his past.
In the statement published by the agency on May 10th, it assures that the decision was made after a long discussion with Lucas, and he decides to leave NCT and WayV to focus on his solo career. Read the statement below:

“After our deliberate discussion LUCAS, we made a mutual decision to part ways with the group NCT and WayV to pursue their individual endeavors. we ask for your understanding and continued support as this was a decision taken after much consideration of both the members and all the fans who have supported.
LUCAS is planning on showing his performances of him through a wide variety of individual works from now on“.
Lucas, in August 2021, created controversy for his past actions of him with his ex-girlfriends that were come to light. Then, the idol posted a handmade apology letter in his official instagram account of him. The agency for its part declared that the member would stop his activities from him to reflect.
