Okay, K-pop stans, time to assemble! That’s because the MTV VMAs 2024 are coming and names like BTS’ Jungkook, BLACKPINK’s Lisa, and NewJeans are on the list. The nominees were revealed today (August 6th) and they include a selection of K-pop groups and solo artists, so dive in to know more!
First, there’s the “Best K-pop category,” which was first introduced in 2019 and has been won by BTS 3 times in 2019, 2020 and 2021. BLACKPINK’s Lisa got the “Moon Person” in 2022 and Stray Kids received the award last year. Currently, the competition is as fierce as ever, with multiple K-pop acts nominated for their incredible hits. Check them out:

In addition, BLACKPINK’s Lisa achieved 4 nominations, becoming the most nominated K-pop act and one of the most nominated artists this year. The Thai rapper and singer was considered for: best K-pop, best choreography, best editing, and best art direction. Meanwhile, BTS’ Jungkook achieved two nominations for best k-pop and best collaboration, thanks to “Seven” featuring Latto.
