Meghan Markle has embraced her new big title after discovering she is 43 percent Nigerian through a DNA test. Recently, the Duchess of Sussex was christened with the Yoruba name “Adetokunbo” during her visit to Nigeria with Prince Harry. In a letter to the Imperial Majesty, Meghan expressed her gratitude:
“I am deeply humbled by your blessing of the traditional Yoruba name, Adetokunbo. I treasure the name and appreciate your trust in me to carry it with grace and dignity.”

The Nigerian tour the former royal couple made was part of a three-day journey, which started with Prince Harry’s return to the UK for the Invictus Games. The Sussexes’ visit was facilitated by Nigeria’s highest-ranking military official, Christopher Musa, making their stay completely stellar. What’s more, Meghan Markle marked her visit by signing the guest book at the Nigerian Defence Headquarters, thanking them for “welcoming me home.”
This new African title and Meghan Markle’s sweet appreciation of her roots coincided with an emotional statement from Prince William and Princess Kate Middleton. The Wales honored the legacy of Rob Burrow, a revered rugby league player who recently passed away after a battle with motor neurone disease.
