Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, once Hollywood’s darlings, are reportedly having their friend circle turning their backs on them. That’s according to tea spilled by Princess Diana’s former butler, Paul Burrell. Speaking to Closer, the royal source said the Sussexes relationships in the United States, including figures like Oprah Winfrey or Beyoncé, are notably disengaged.
“Harry and Meghan’s circle is getting smaller and smaller. I think the A-list stars are dropping like flies. Some already have done — Oprah [Winfrey] no longer seems involved with them and some other celebrities have also dropped them.”
Burrell later noted that the initial fascination with the Duke and the Dutchess has been slowly fading over time. He stated that, at some point after their marriage, they were a power couple in America. However, after several scandals and the rift with the rest of the royal family, that perspective started to decline.
In addition, reports from Closer point out that Hollywood’s big names, including George and Amal Clooney, Katy Perry, and Orlando Bloom, Beyoncé, and Jay-Z could have declined invitations from the former royal couple. The result? A significant switch up in Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s social dynamics. Despite these broken American friendships, the pair continues to live in their Montecito, California home with their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
