Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been on the media’s front page for a long time. This does not come as a surprise since they released a documentary on Netflix that caused a huge controversy inside Buckingham Palace. The documentary was expected to be nominated for an Oscar but did not make the cut.
According to Carla Speight: “If they showed up to the Oscars, it would raise many questions as to why and ultimately it wouldn’t be a good look for them.” She also added that it does not make sense for them to be at the Oscars, “Their documentary wasn’t nominated.”
The media also commented on the absence of the couple at the Oscars and claimed they are very happy about living in the U.S. and they’re working on improving their public perception there.
Meghan’s not currently acting and I don’t think Harry has any plans to either, though stranger things have happened with them recently.
The expert also said there were only three reasons why the royal couple would have turned up to the Oscars: “Either they’ve been nominated, are networking, or have a project they want to plug. Harry and Meghan don’t have any of those reasons to be there, so it’s no surprise they weren’t there.“
Despite the fact that the couple did not attend the ceremony, they were a trending topic on social media, something that would make them reconsider the next time they plan on missing an important public event.
