MAMAMOO’s Hwasa saw commercial success after her iconic performance at the 46th Blue Dragon Film Awards. The iconic “Good Goodbye” has earned thousands of hearts across the globe with its sincere yet hard narrative. So, it’s no surprise the idol is thriving like no other in the Kpop scene.
On the January 18 episode of SBS’s “Inkigayo,” Hwasa stole the spotlight despite not performing on the show. However, the amazing lineup of performers also became the talk of the town, including ENHYPEN, ALPHA DRIVE ONE, Apink, SEVENTEEN’s DxS (DK x Seungkwan), LNGSHOT, MONSTA X’s Joohoney, Chuu, LIGHTSUM, idntt, SF9’s Inseong, SAY MY NAME, Shin Soohyun, WAKER, and Kwon Eui Bin.
Just before the show ended, as usual, the hosts took over the stage to announce the candidates for the fierce weekly competition. The song that took the Inkigayo crown is based on several metrics, including the popularity of the song in the charts.
This week’s candidates for first place were Apink’s “Love Me More,” Hwasa’s “Good Goodbye,” and LE SSERAFIM’s “SPAGHETTI” (featuring BTS’s j-hope). Ultimately, Hwasa took the crown home with a total of 6,045 points, becoming the third time the idol won on Inkigayo, and the 5th overall.
